When you were 8, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be Katharine Hepburn or a lawyer. This manifested itself in wanting to be Amanda Bonner, the character Hepburn played in Adam’s Rib. She was a defense attorney fighting for women’s rights in a case against her prosecutor husband, played by Spencer Tracy.

Now what do you want to be when you grow up?

Katharine Hepburn in anything.

What is your proudest accomplishment to date?

Turning lemons into limoncello in the aftermath of 9/11. I worked in Manhattan in the magazine industry and was laid off in November 2001. Aware that my troubles were lighter than many during that time, I still needed to find ways to cope while I searched for my next professional adventure. I needed a team. I needed a physical outlet. I got a Black Belt.

What gets you out of bed and in to work in the morning?

The excitement about learning something new every day and a great cup of coffee.
